We recently visited Gainesville, FL. I wanted to share with you the two new places I got to explore there!
Halo Potato Donuts:
Since it was cold, we stayed and ordered from the car.
We had three different donuts, the maple one, vanilla, and chocolate and peanut butter. My favorite was the maple although the other two were as delightful too. The taste of these donuts it’s a little bit different from the regular donuts, you can taste how rich they are because of the potatoes.
Wyatt’s Coffee
Excellent, excellent, excellent! This comfy coffee shop is located on a corner in the middle of downtown Gainesville. I loved how creamy and tasty this coffee latte was. I wish I ordered a bigger cup instead!!

Como hacía frío, nos quedamos y ordenamos desde el carro.
Compre tres donas la maple, vainilla y chocolate con mantequilla de maní. Mi favorita fue la de maple, aunque las otras dos también eran deliciosas. El sabor de estas donas es un poco diferente al de las donas normales, la consistencia es mas pesada debido a que son hechas de papas.
Café de Wyatt
¡Excelente, excelente, excelente! Esta cómoda cafetería está ubicada en una esquina en el medio del centro de Gainesville. Me encantó lo cremoso y sabroso que era este café con leche. ¡Me quede con las ganas de tomarme una taza más grande!

On Summer 2018, my Daughter and I went to visit my son in college at the beautiful Gainesville, and let me tell you how much we loved it!!
As we stayed with him and had a little bit of a college experience, we also enjoyed some of the delicious food Gainesville has to offer. I love UF and I’m so pleased with their service and care towards our kids’ education.
Before I left Miami, I asked my friends for advises and tips of places where to go.
I created a list in my Yelp account of those places, plus the ones I got to add along the way.
Best Time to Go:
I have been in Gainesville in August and in June, which was the last time I went. The weather is around the 80 °F, not as humid as Miami, but it rains just as much, so an umbrella in your car could be a great idea.
Time There:
Two days or a weekend is just right.
Things to Do:
Besides eating, we went to;
Regal Cinemas Celebration Pointe 10 & RPX and we loved this Movie Theater. I’m not used to paying “regular” price for a movie ticket and get the experience like the one we had.
One of the places we wanted to go but we were not able because of the weather was, Ginnie Springs. I was dying to go there and take amazing pictures, but I couldn’t make it.
Yummy Places:
Ufffff we had a feast and ate in different places, of course, I didn’t have enough time to visit them all, but I will and as soon as I do so, I will let you all know about it. But have no fear; I have a list for you:
- Krispy Kreme: Nothing better than wake up every morning and have breakfast here, fresh donuts…YES!
- Mi Apá Latin Cafe. We had delicious Venezuelan food.
- Sweet Berries Eatery and Frozen Custard: Recommended by my son. This was a great option for a fresh dinner on a beautiful Saturday night, plus they had live music.
- Vietnamese Grille; this place was also recommended by my college boy and I ate in here for the first time, Vietnamese food and the famous PHO!
- TeaStori, great for an afternoon break and enjoy their delicious Boba Tea and Moshi ice cream.
- Satchel’s Pizza, OK we LOVED this place and words or pictures are not going to be enough to tell you how much we liked it. You need to visit this place!

Me encanta UF y estoy satisfecha con su servicio y cuidado con la educación de nuestros hijos.
Antes de salir de Miami, les pedí consejos a mis amigos y consejos sobre lugares a donde ir. Creé una lista en mi cuenta de Yelp de esos lugares, más los que fui agregando.
Mejor momento para ir:
He estado en Gainesville en agosto y en junio, que fue la última vez que fui. El clima es alrededor de los 80 ° F, no tan húmedo como Miami, pero llueve tanto, por lo que una sombrilla en tu auto podría ser una gran idea.

- Krispy Kreme: nada mejor que despertarse cada mañana y desayunar aquí, donas frescas … ¡SÍ!
- Mi Apá Latin Cafe. Tuvimos deliciosa comida venezolana.
- Sweet Berries Eatery and Frozen Custard: recomendado por mi hijo. Esta fue una gran opción para una cena fresca en una hermosa noche de Sábado, además tenían música en vivo.
- Parrilla vietnamita; este lugar también fue recomendado por mi hijo colegial y comí aquí por primera vez, ¡comida vietnamita y el famoso PHO!
- TeaStori, ideal para un descanso de la tarde y disfrutar de su delicioso te de Boba y helado Moshi.
- Y de último pero definitivamente no menos importante: Satchel’s Pizza, OK, nos ENCANTÓ este lugar y las palabras o las imágenes no son suficientes para decirte cuánto nos gustó. ¡Tienes que visitarlo!
